About the Artist
|
Before immigrating to Canada, I worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for fashion magazines. It wasn't until I started learning lamp work glass that my interest in beads and jewelry was sparked 10 years ago. With a small kiln and a powerful torch, I created my own glass beads in my studio, until I fell in love with semi-precious gemstones and crystals.
My techniques of assembling include wire weaving (bird nest), sewing and beading. Occasionally I bezel mount the cabochon for rings and pendants. The availability of PMC silver clay has allowed me the freedom to explore my art form three dimensionally in conjunction with gemstones, which opens a new horizon for my jewelry.
I enjoy every step and take pride in producing every single piece of my jewelry, may it be a very simple earring or a "one-of-kind" necklace.
