It’s been a busy summer so far as crews continue work along Yonge Street. If you’ve been travelling along Yonge in Richmond Hill lately, you’ll notice that new vivastations are under construction at Scott Drive and Gamble Road. The concrete platform has been poured and the steel canopy installed at Scott – the first canopy for the Yonge bus rapid transit construction project in Richmond Hill.
This will be followed by the steel canopy installation at Gamble – an exciting development that marks a milestone for the project and for the City of Richmond Hill.
Once the steel canopies are erected, glass installation, tile electrical work, and then fixture installation will follow. Soon, you will be able to see the beautiful, signature blue glass being placed onto the canopies, creating a safe and durable vivastation structure.
Constructing a vivastation requires a significant amount of coordination and has many components. Check out this blog to learn what happens behind-the-scenes during the construction of each vivastation. It’s taken significant design, planning, and preparation to reach these project milestones, and we’re excited to share it with you.
