1 min to read's friends at The STEAM Project wanted to make sure you knew that they are offering both in-person Winter Camp  (with strict Covid-19 protocols) and an assortment of virtual programs in January.

Maker Wonderland
Get your kids off their screens this winter and give themengaging hands-on activities to keep their minds active!
This holiday season the STEAM project is opening up their Makerspace in a Covid-safe way so they can give young people exciting ways to make awesome projects with their hand tools, electronics, robotics, and all their makerspace tools like 3D printers and laser cutters.

With experiments and design challenges they fuel inquisitive minds and spark their creativity.

There is the option to sign up for the week or individual days to give your kids the best winter break ever!

Ages: Gr. 3-8
Dates: Dec 21-24 & Dec 28-31
Times: 9am-4pm
Price: $120 per day or $360 per week

What Covid safety measures are in place?

  • Health screening of students (including a temperature check) at each sign in
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at every entrance
  • Students who exhibit symptoms will not be allowed to attend
  • No more than 10 students in a group
  • Any common use supplies and tools will be disinfected before and after usage
  • Any common use activity room will have its frequent touch areas (door handles, tables, chairs, etc.) disinfected between activity periods

The kids will be working hands-on with what they are learning about. They send students maker kits with construction materials and electronics so they can learn while building!

Four different virtual class series:
1) Create 'N' Code (Gr. 3-5): Learn to code with the Micro:bit system while building projects like an electronically-controlled Mars Habitat.

2) Tesla Crate (Gr. 3-6): Build a new STEAM project everyday. Introduces students to new topics like physics, electricity, engineering and architecture.

3) Tiny Homes (Gr. 5-8): Learn 3D design software (SketchUp) and bring the design to life with our Tiny Home architecture kit.

4) Arduino Playground (Gr. 5-8):Learn to program using the Arduino system while building a variety of custom electronic projects.
