The Metrolinx team bringing TTC Line 1 subway service further north into York Region is inviting you to visit its brand-new community office in Richmond Hill to learn about the Yonge North Subway Extension.
The project will extend the TTC’s Line 1 subway approximately eight kilometres north from Finch Station to Vaughan, Markham, and Richmond Hill – with five new stations along the way. The new line will make it faster and easier for more people to travel between York Region and downtown Toronto while cutting down on traffic congestion and pollution.
Conveniently located within the shopping plaza at 295 High Tech Road, the windows of the Metrolinx community office are adorned with colourful illustrations that show a subway train whisking passengers across a bustling urban landscape – a glimpse into York Region’s transit future. The office is near the two future stations at the northern end of the line, including the transit hub at Bridge Station that will offer fast and simple connections to York Region Transit, and regional GO train and bus services.
The Yonge North Subway Extension office is a space for you to connect face-to-face with experts from the Metrolinx project team to learn about how transit expansion will make travel easier and how Metrolinx will keep temporary impacts to a minimum, wherever possible. The office also offers visitors immersive sound experiences that give residents a chance to hear what’s coming to their community. Whether you come through the doors to ask about future plans or project updates, the friendly and knowledgeable Metrolinx team has the answers to your questions, and a comfy seat for your visit.
You’re invited to drop by during the office hours. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the office is opened from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursdays. These hours are also posted on the Metrolinx website. If another time would be more convenient, you can book a meeting time with the Metrolinx team that works best for your schedule.
