Considered a "hidden gem" in Calgary, Alberta, The Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs (BGSS) consists of numerous individual gardens connected with walking paths bordered with beautiful flowering shrubs and specialty trees. Hand-painted signs depict arrival to feature gardens with intriguing names such as "Shakespearean Garden," "The Labyrinth," and "Alpine Crevice." Just over ten years old, it is also notable that these beautiful gardens are designed, developed, maintained and managed entirely by a volunteer group!
Special Gueest, Master Gardener June Bergman is the chair of the BGSS volunteer organization. A gardening enthusiast since childhood, June is also an active member of the Calgary Horticultural Society and the Calgary Rock and Alpine Garden Society.
