Meet Sparky the Fire Dog, Learn Fire Safety and Have Fun!
The community is invited to a free event to celebrate Fire Prevention Week with Richmond Hill Fire and Emergency Services (RHFES) staff along with Sparky the Fire Dog!
Fire Prevention Week (October 8-14) is an opportunity for Richmond Hill residents to learn how to stay safe in case of a fire.
This year’s theme is “Cooking safety starts with YOU. Pay attention to fire prevention.” The event will help to educate attendees about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe when cooking.
Cooking fires are the number one cause of home fires and home injuries. At the Open House, you will learn ways to cook with caution, what to do if you have a small (grease) cooking fire and other fire safety tips to keep you and your family safe.
This free event offers child-friendly games and activities, live demonstrations (including auto rescue demonstrations and a fire truck simulator), food trucks and more!
Location: Fire Station 8-1, 191 Major Mackenzie Drive West
