St. Matthew’s United Church in Richmond Hill is proud of an important development in their community of faith.
St. Matthew’s United Church will soon be celebrating in its new officially recognized status as an Affirming Ministry. The church has publicly declared its welcome to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities and is committed to promoting a safe and just society for these and other marginalized people.
In a world where minority sexual orientations and gender identities are increasingly a target of hate and where welcoming communities of faith continue to be the exception, not the rule, the congregation feel their accomplishment is worth celebrating.
