Please donate when you see a kettle, and consider donating your time to man a kettle!
The official kickoff of The Salvation Army Richmond Hill’s Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign was on Thursday, November 27th. The Kettle is now there near the large JOY sign.
This annual Campaign is the largest fundraising drive of the year for The Salvation Army helping local children, adults, families and newcomers to Canada with the necessities of life, such as food, clothing and shelter.
The on-going economic uncertainty has drastically affected the most vulnerable who are already struggling in our community. Last year, the Salvation Army Richmond Hill helped more than 4800 adults and at-risk individuals with food, clothing, counseling and advocacy, distributed toys and food to over 350 families through the annual Christmas Assistance program and provided over 250 children with backpacks and school supplies. So far this year, coats have already been collected and distributed to over 2000 children and adults.
The annual Christmas Kettle Campaign for The Salvation Army would not be possible without the hundreds of kettle workers who volunteer their time.
Please consider becoming a Christmas Kettle Hero!
It's a beautiful way to give back this season without wrestling with tangled Christmas lights or baking 500 cookies. Stand next to a Salvation Army kettle, smile, and spread a little Christmas cheer.
