LearningRx Brain Training Shares 10 Ideas for Random Act of Kindness Day

February 17th is Random Act of Kindness Day and LearningRx, the largest one-on-one brain training company in the world, is sharing ideas to help you celebrate.

1. Leave a great review. Restaurants and many other service industries have been hit hard by the pandemic. Take the time to write a great online review for a restaurant or small business you love.

2. Give an extra tip. Instead of buying coffee or food for the person behind you in line or in the drive-through, give an extra tip to the employee.

3. Write a letter. In this day and age, it’s easy to craft an email or text message to a friend or faraway relative. Take a minute to write a card or letter instead.

4. Pick up trash. Head to your local park or trail with gloves and a bag to clean up any litter you find.

5. Help an elderly neighbor. Bring them their mail, bake them cookies, cook a meal, or shovel their driveway.

6. Babysit for free. Give parents a date night or help out a single parent by offering to watch their kids free of charge for an evening.

7. Donate your hair. Read up on the guidelines for donating hair and then find a legitimate organization, such as Wigs for Kids, to which you can mail it.

8. Pay a stranger’s library fees. The next time you’re at the library, offer to pay the fees of someone else who has overdue books.

9. Volunteer your time. Spend a few hours at the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society or help pack and load boxes at the Food Bank of York Region.

10. Put coins in an expired meter. Save someone the hassle of paying a parking ticket by filling their meter.
