Richmond Hill is taking steps toward becoming an Age-Friendly Community (AFC).

With 31.9% of Richmond Hill’s population (2021 Census) being older adults (aged 55+), it seems like a wise move.

This month the city staff invite the public to join them at these two community workshops:

  1. Virtual: April 24 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Zoom. Register HERE.
  2. In-Person: April 25 from 10 - 11:30 a.m. at the Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts, 10268 Yonge Street (map).Register HERE.

FYI _ there are eight interconnected domains that can help to identify and address barriers to the well-being and participation of older people, as set out by the World Health Organization

  1. Community and Health Care
  2. Transportation
  3. Housing
  4. Social Participation
  5. Outdoor Spaces and Buildings
  6. Respect and Social Inclusion
  7. Civic Participation and Employment
  8. Communication and Information
