This six-week course (Thursdays, 7 pm starting January 22, 2026) is open to everyone.
Kadampa teacher, Rose Hirano, will introduce the fundamental principles of Buddhism in a down-to-earth and practical way, including meditation, an understanding of the origins of our unhappiness (within the mind), and how we can gradually bring unhappy states of mind to an end.
Each session explores how these teachings can be applied in daily life to cultivate inner peace, clarity, and resilience. The course gives a strong foundation in Buddhist philosophy, along with practical tools for creating a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Each class includes two guided meditations and a talk on nurturing deeper inner peace and developing a clear sense of purpose and direction in life. There is also time for questions and discussion.
Each session is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any point. No previous experience is required.
The classes are held in the peaceful, friendly, and comfortable surroundings of the Bayview Hill Pool & Community Centre.
Cost: $15 / class or $75 for the series of 6 classes
Advanced booking preferred. Walk-in welcome.
