Mike Daley Presents: The Neil Young Story

Event Date:
Sunday, October 26, 2025 - 3:00pm to 4:30pm

An entertaining lecture-concert covering the fascinating history of this iconic Canadian, with live performances of his greatest hits.

Neil Young is one of the most beloved singer-songwriters of all time. From his early years in Winnipeg and Toronto, to his breakthrough as a member of Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, to his successful solo career alone and with his band Crazy Horse, Neil Young has written some of the most indelible songs of our time: "Heart Of Gold," "Old Man," "Harvest Moon" and "After The Goldrush."

Mike Daley Presents: The Neil Young Story is a lecture-concert combining 'unplugged' renditions of Neil's classic hit songs with Dr. Mike's fascinating story of his life and career. Along with Mike's narration, guitar and vocals, Will Reid contributes bass and vocals, Greg Wyard plays guitar and sings, and Jill Daley plays piano and violin.

Neil Young's unique performing style and haunting songs have taken him from the teen clubs of Winnipeg to the coffeehouses of Yorkville, from Sunset Strip nightclubs to sold-out stadiums. Through it all, he has stubbornly followed his musical vision, creating a body of work so distinctive that he has practically forged his own genre: Neil Young Music. Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Neil Young Story is a loving tribute to Neil and his music.

The latest in a monthly series that has included sold-out lecture-concerts on Simon and Garfunkel, Carole King, the Beatles and Gordon Lightfoot, Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Neil Young Story is a must-see for any music fan.

Mike Daley is a musician and music historian known across the GTA for his highly entertaining and informative talks on popular music. Will Reid is a highly skilled musician and educator. Jill Daley is a full-time musician at Canada's National Ballet School and, like Mike, is part of the music staff at Redeemer. Greg Wyard is a respected Toronto bassist with several original albums to his credit and a strong following as the GTA's premier solo singer/guitarist.
